House NF

House NF is located at the foot of the Venetian Prealps, in the town of Bassano del Grappa, between the western side of Monte Grappa, recently declared a UNESCO heritage site, and the eastern side of the Asiago plateau.

The house is composed of a base, and a volume on the upper floor that opens onto a small panoramic terrace, facing south, with a view of the historic center of the city.

The olive grove and the land owned play a crucial role in the project, which develops around them, framing the views through the use of the architectural element of the courtyards.

From the street the building appears closed, the view towards the outside is filtered by a divider of wooden slats, used as a visual filter to create a “see-through” effect and give the owners the right amount of privacy. On the contrary, towards the garden, protected by the volumes of the building, the view opens up by incorporating the olive grove into the living area.

The connection between inside and outside is favored by the choice of Aluxima and Xtravision aluminum windows, with large windows with slender lines and essential profiles.

The envelope is in exposed concrete. The concrete in the base was cast in wooden formworks to recall its texture, and harmonize with the sliding shutters, to symbolize the introspective side of the house; in the upper part of the structure, however, it was left smooth, to emphasize a more open vocation.
