Casa XV

Introduction
A private villa positioned on a hill overlooking the city of Pristina, conceived on the opportunity to relate the simplicity of the structure with vernacular architecture.
The references to traditional rural constructions led the architect - Luca Gazzaniga - to design the project based on the topographical context of the land, and on the path of the sun.
The architectural structure
In fact, a study was conducted on the positioning of the volumes, to find the right spatial balance in the formation of an artificial micro-landscape of prisms, interstitial spaces and new views of the landscape and new panoramas. An irregular double-height element acts as an entrance, and connects the main functions of the house, contained in strong orthogonal spaces.
The connection with nature
Large wooden windows from the Maxima 80 collection promote connection with the outside environment.
A system of motorized wooden shutters, custom-made for the project, provides solar screening to the interiors. The play of light and shadow that is created accentuates the perception of pure solids, which with wood create a warm and domestic atmosphere.
Three pavilions located in the park reflect local wooden constructions: intermediate structures, between home and garden, where the family gathers.
